Hamster brings The King of Fighters 97 to Switch this week

The King of Fighters 97 is the fourth game in The King of Fighters series and the final story entry in the Orochi Saga, produced by SNK for the Neo Geo arcade. Today Hamster announced plans to bring The King of Fighters ’97 to the Nintendo Switch this week, as part of their ACA NEO GEO lineup of ports from SNK’s iconic arcade and home console.

The King of Fighters ’97 is a fighting game released by SNK in 1997. Featuring popular characters from Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting, these fighters will battle to determine who is the strongest. The Advanced and Extra modes of gameplay offer an even deeper level of tactics. The game offers a number of refinements and enhancements over the previous games, including the welcome addition of the Advanced and Extra modes, which offer two distinct play styles. Additionally, a handful of new and returning characters have been added to the roster including sub-boss Chizuru Kagura, Geese Howard’s right-hand man Billy Kane, who last appeared in The King of Fighters ’95, the secret agent Blue Mary and psychotic felon Ryuji Yamazaki

The King of Fighters ’97 will be available for $7.99 on the Nintendo Switch eShop when it releases tomorrow, July 26th.
